Brown Granite

Tan Brown Granite is a brown porphyry quarried in Karimnagar near Odyaram. This tiny village is surrounded by these hillocks of tan brown export quality granite.

This granite has a light to dark brown flower structure over a blackish brown background. You'll find it with and without white specks. Other varieties include Dark Tan and Karim Brown.

Excavation began in 1988 with just a few quarries. Today, 2012, there are over fifteen quarries excavating tan brown.

Interesting Fact: The people living in Odyaram village NO LONGER pay house taxes or water taxes because of the increase in revenue from the tan brown quarries.
