Fossil Brown

Brown Limestone

Fossil Brown is a deep brown fossil stone quarried in Morocco.

It's full of fossils!

Orthoceras are mollusk that lived more than 400 million years ago. These are the long ones.

Goniatites are also over 400 million years old and similar to squid. Thse are the fossils that look like large snails (to me anyway).

The surface of the slabs often have a resin applied to them and are strengthened on the back with a fiber armed resin (mesh) to help strenghten them for transporting and fabricating.

Interesting Fact: Fossil Brown is quarried in the Saharan Desert.
