Black Galaxy Granite

Black Granite

Black Galaxy granite has been used as an ornamental stone since 1988. It is a fine to medium grained natural stone quarried in India with natural surface pitting.

This natural stone has a dark black background with many sparkling bright crystals. They sparkle and twinkle as the stone is viewed from different angles in various lights. The brightness of these crystals is visible on a polished surface only.

The original black galaxy material with the densest black background and bright reflectors is known as Star Galaxy.

Star Galaxy or Black Galaxy is divided into three types based on the size of the gold specks. It is also graded according to the number of visible veins even though these veins do not affect the integrity of the stone. The more veins, the lower the grade.

Interesting Fact: The gold specks in Galaxy are due to the presence of Bronzite. This unusual gemstone is constructed of different rocks and can be polished to a high luster.
